ONLINE CSR COMMUNICATIONS
We have a distinctive approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR) because we believe the internet represents a fundamental dimension of CSR and can play a key role in achieving reputational goals. The web allows organisations to reach out to a vast range of stakeholders in a dynamic, transparent and engaging way and provides powerful options for constructive, real-time dialogue.
Our flagship activity in this area is the CSR Online Awards, a research project measuring the effectiveness of online CSR communications and generating hundreds of best practice examples from sustainability leaders worldwide.
Focusing on the web allows us to provide distinctive insight into how companies should approach their CSR reporting and successfully integrate offline and online reporting. We also conduct perception audits of stakeholders and advise on CSR reports themselves and how they relate to information provided on the corporate website. We also advise on web-based and integrated reporting.
Are you planning to add a CSR section to your website or overhaul an existing section? We can help define priorities and plan a menu architecture, based on input from stakeholder representatives, and then devise content and interactive features to produce a best-in-class CSR website. Once your new site is online, why not use our evaluation protocol to measure its effectiveness as part of the fine-tuning process and benchmark the results with international or sector-based best practice?
CSR Online Awards
This annual research project investigates how listed companies communicate CSR online, spanning environmental, social and governance information. With the aim of stimulating debate about the importance of the web as a strategic tool for corporate responsibility, it measures not only the quality of content but also the user experience and ongoing engagement.
The study reflects users’ actual needs because the evaluation criteria are based on the results of surveys of CSR professionals and sector experts who identify what content and functionality they find essential. We've had more than 500 responses to our surveys over three years.
The highlight of the CSR Online Awards in 2011 is the ‘Europe Top 100’ classification, which ranks the online CSR communications of the members of the FTSE Eurotop 100 index. It is supported by country rankings for
