As published today in Italian weekly CorrierEconomia, Eni topped both the KWD Webranking Europe 500 and the Global 100 studies, to be named as the best company for online corporate communications at a global level.

KWD Webranking, now in its 17th European edition, is the most in-depth analysis of online financial and corporate communications in Europe and is carried out by KW Digital in partnership with Lundquist.

The winners of this year’s edition of the study were recognised during the KWD Webranking Forum, held in Stockholm on January 23.

Four Italian companies made it into the top 10 in Europe, showing the serious commitment to online corporate communications by the country’s biggest corporations. In addition to oil company Eni, Telecom Italia took second place after holding the title for the previous two years, Snam climbed from 8th to 6th position and Pirelli & C. slipped to 10th from 6th.

The ranking considered the 500 largest companies by market capitalization in Europe (those in the FT Europe 500 index), which included 26 Italian companies. Among them, Terna, UniCredit and Generali made it into the top 30. The Global 100 study evaluated the largest 100 companies in the FT Global 500 list.

Swedish hygiene and forest products company SCA rounded off the top three positions in Europe while at a global level Germany’s Basf maintained silver and new-entry Bayer took bronze.
