Banks pushed to invest more heavily in social and digital media for sustainability issues

In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, big banks are increasingly falling subject to the scrutiny of the public eye, which demands that they communicate their corporate information transparently. As the importance of transparency on financial performance, corporate governance and sustainability continues to intensify, there is a clear need for banks to invest more heavily in digital corporate and sustainable communications in order to maintain a strong positive presence.

Spotlight on Italian banks: Azienda Banca covers the 2016-2017 Webranking banking sector results

Italian business publication Azienda Banca reports on how Italian banks fared in the 2016-2017 Webranking by Comprend research.

Webranking works as a stress test, in that it measures the fundamentals of online corporate and financial communications and dialogue of the largest listed companies, based on stakeholder demands. The research’s objective is to promote a digital culture within companies and help them understand how to meet the growing expectations of stakeholders.

The research, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, examined 499 corporate websites pertaining to the largest European companies, of which 49 were banking websites (12 of these are Italian banks).

Awarding the best companies in digital comms

We welcomed a full house to the 2016 Lundquist European Seminar on Digital Corporate Communications & 15th Webranking Awards.

This year we awarded Italy listed and non-listed companies, and Swiss listed companies, as well as those companies who made it into our prestigious Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame awards the companies who have consistently demonstrated excellence in communicating their stakeholders needs on their corporate website and via their digital channels.

The event was exclusively covered in Corriere Economia. Read the article here and check out our video from the event.

Corriere Economia exclusively covers the 2016-2017 Webranking Italy rankings

Italian weekly Corriere Economia reports exclusively today the state of the art of Italian digital corporate communications in the latest Webranking by Comprend edition. Now in its 15th edition, the Italian ranking is conducted by Lundquist.

Webranking works as a stress test, in that it measures the fundamentals of online corporate and financial communications and dialogue of the largest listed companies, based on stakeholder demands. The research’s objective is to promote a digital culture within companies and help them understand how to meet the growing expectations of stakeholders.

Corriere Economia’s article (in Italian) argues the case for Italian mid-cap companies, which this year have made a significant leap forward in credibly communicating to their stakeholders.  Multi-utility company Gruppo Hera jumps to second place, with construction firm Salini Impreglio and renewable energy firm Erg making it into the top 10 for the first time. Hearing aid company Amplifon improves massively, jumping 21 points, from 44th place to 23rd.
